FAQs

All ear listings are now "a la carte". Ears are sold individually. Add each design individually to your cart to make a set.  You must select ears + select a base + select a bow (optional).

Single Ear Selection: You are selecting only ONE ear to add to your collection. This is great for mixing and matching. To make a set of ears, you must add two designs to your shopping cart.

Ear Set: some listings include a set of two ears. You are purchasing ONLY the ears. This option does not include a base or bow, available in our Interchangeable Basics collection.

Interchangeable Headband Base: Our magnetic headband is for use with all our other interchangeable ears. Headband measures 1" and covered in grosgrain for extra comfort. Magnetic interchangeable ears and bows not included.

Interchangeable Hat Band Base: Our magnetic hat band is for use with all our other interchangeable ears. Magnetic interchangeable ears and bows not included. The magnetic hat band is placed on the underside of any hat you own. Ears magnetize over top, causing zero damage! Hatband is comfortable and can barely be felt.

Interchangeable Game Gear Bases: Our game gear bases are great for headphones. They can be used by gamers and those with sensory sensibilities as well. The bases come in a set of two and include hook and loop straps that can be adjusted to fit a variety of headphone sizes. Game gear bases are also a great option for those that want to use their own headband with our ears.

How does 3D Printing work? Why does it take so long?

3D printing is the process of making a three-dimensional object by melting various materials, in our case biodegradable plastic, and laying down many thin layers in succession. A typical one color printed ear takes about 2-3 hours. A full set of single color ears can take between 3-8 hours from start to completion (this includes total printing time and assembly). Multicolor and custom ears can take up to 10 hours to complete. Sometimes prints require post-processing such as sanding, painting, gluing, and sealing.

A 3D printer involves a lot of maintenance and tweaking. Factors such as temperature, moisture, and leveling can affect the way filament is melted and the ultimate look of the final print. Many times, printers can also clog and the beds must be re-calibrated and leveled.

Shipping and Processing Times

Processing time is not the same as shipping time. Paying for expedited shipping will NOT change the processing time of orders. While we try and create them more quickly, please allow at least 20 business days (4 weeks) plus shipping time for delivery. If you have a specific trip date in mind, please reach out to us via email before placing your order to see if it is possible. While we try to work with clients if items are needed sooner, it is not guaranteed. If you need your made to order item sooner, please use our rush order listing option.

All items are shipped via USPS ground mail mail and typically take 3-5 days. Additional shipping options and insurance are also available. Please note, after packages are in the hands of the post office, we are NOT responsible for any lost or stolen packages. If this is an issue with your local post office or the area in which you live, we highly suggest ensuring that you purchase insurance (this option is included with priority mail).

Care Instructions

Prolonged exposure in intense heat may damage or warp the PLA. Do not leave in the exposed sun in a car for extended periods of time or place in a dishwasher. While 3D printed ears are extremely durable and are theme park tested and approved, we will not refund or replace ears that have been damaged or lost after delivery. Please take proper precautions to ensure their safekeeping.

All About Magnets

Our interchangeable ears and many of our other products use some of the strongest magnets in the world. Under normal care and use, these magnets are completely harmless, however please consider the following precautions:

Keep magnets away from anyone with a pacemaker.

Magnets create strong magnetic fields around them, which can interfere with pacemakers, ICDs and other implanted medical devices. This is because many of these devices are made with a feature that deactivates the device in a magnetic field.

Keep magnets away from magnetic media.

The strong magnetic fields emanating from magnets can damage magnetic media such as credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, video tapes or other such devices. They can also damage older televisions, VCRs, computer monitors and CRT displays.
